Tips: The related noun consequence means “the result of an action.” Something inconsequential has no resulting effects and this is why it means “unimportant;” it has no consequences.
Examples:- Marc’s inconsequential rambling had nothing to do with the topic of conversation
- Many young students have a difficult time distinguishing between relevant and inconsequential information.
- Our meeting was inconsequential and didn’t bring about any change.

QUIBBLE (verb, noun) (noun) 1 a slight objection or criticism. (verb) 1. to quarrel over something trivial; 2. to evade the truth by bringing up irrelevant points about an issue;
Synonyms: (v.) avoid, trifle, argue, dispute, nit-pick, evade, waffle, squabble, (n.) complaint
Antonyms: (v.) agree, harmonize
Tips: For quibble, think of the related words squabble “petty argument” and quarrel “heated dispute.” Quibble is similar; it is quarreling or arguing in a petty way by nitpicking over irrelevant or trivial points.
Examples:- Let’s try not to quibble over something so inconsequential.
- The debate turned into a quibble after the politicians started arguing over irrelevant and trivial points.
- There’s no point quibbling about/over a couple of dollars.
- John’s only quibble with the movie was is that it’s too long.
